GETTING TO ALSTON

The festival site is at Tyne Willow Playing Fields in Alston, the postcode is CA9 3HZ (see the map below for our location). Parking in Alston is limited. Please park only on the Festival site, following the directions of our friendly stewards. There is plenty of parking space on the site and it is free! The Visit Alston website is full of local tourist information and there is Alston Moor our community website where you can find lots of local news and details of local services.

By road, Alston can be reached from the M6 at Penrith via the A689 and from Carlisle or Newcastle via the A69 and the A686. From Scotch Corner on the A1M, the route to Alston is via Barnard Castle and the B6277, passing through beautiful Upper Teesdale. There are limited bus services to Alston, please visit www.cumbria.gov.uk for bus timetables. The nearest railway stations are:

The C2C cycle route comes through Alston and includes the exhilerating ride over Hartside Pass when coming from the West.
